Jian Guo Zhou

Manchester Metropolitan University, United Kingdom 0000-0002-4262-1898

Dr Zhou graduated from Wuhan University with his BSc in River Mechanics and Engineering and subsequently completed his MSc in Fluvial Mechanics at Tsinghua University. He received his PhD in Fluid Mechanics from Leeds University. Since then, he has been working in the development and application of mathematical models and numerical methods for coastal, estuary, hydraulic and river engineering including sediment transport. This covers the modern numerical techniques (lattice Boltzmann methods), high-resolution Riemann solver, Cartesian cut-cell method and pressure correction methods (SIMPLE, SIMPLER and SIMPLC). He has authored the first research monograph on the lattice Boltzmann methods for shallow water flows.
