Julien R M G Lambert completed his residency in dermatology in 1987 at the University of Antwerp (Antwerp, Belgium) followed by an additional year of training with a special focus on photodermatology at the Hôpital Saint-Louis in Paris, France. He received his M.S. degree in economic sciences at the University of Antwerp in 1989, with a thesis on the economic cost of HIV in Belgium. In 1994, he obtained his Ph.D. degree in provocation tests of polymorphic light eruption. Lambert was appointed Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at the Antwerp University Hospital in 1997. He teaches tropical dermatology at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium, and is coauthor of a textbook on ethnic dermatology. His main interests are general dermatology, photodermatology, psoriasis, pharmacoeconomics, dermatoepidemiology, and tropical dermatology. Lambert served as the President of the Royal Belgian Society of Dermatology and Venereology from 2002 till 2007 and he is Member of the Board of the EADV since 2007.
