Jose Vicente Garcia Mateo

University CEU Cardenal Herrera, Spain

Jose Vicente Garcia Mateo was born in 1965 in Valencia (Spain). He has obtained the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Analytical Chemistry, University of Valencia in the field of analytical chemistry with the research topic application of heterogeneous systems to the determination of pharmaceuticals by flow injection analysis. He has worked as an Associated Professor at the Department of Chemistry of the Polytechnical University of Valencia. From 1994 till 2000, he worked as a Lecturer of chemistry in the University College CEU-San Pablo, and since 2000 also an Associated Professor of chemistry in the Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in the University CEU-Cardenal Herrera, in Valencia (Spain). He carried out his postdoc studies in the Institute of Chemistry of Bialystock (Warsaw University). He has also visited the Departments of Chemistry of the Universities of Bucarest (Romania) and the UNAM (México). His scientific interest includes flow injection analysis, automation of analytical procedures by means of different flow approaches (FIA, multicommutation and multipumping), chemiluminescence, and online photo-degradation implementation in the field of environmental and pharmaceutical analysis. His current research efforts are focused on the development of full automated new flow analytical methods based on associated multicommutation and multipumping coupled with chemiluminescence detection.
