Ilaria Cristiani
llaria Cristiani was born in Pavia in 1969. She received her laurea degree in electronics engineering from the University of Pavia in 1994 and her Ph.D. degree in 1998. During her Ph.D. she worked at Pirelli Cables and Systems Advanced Research Laboratories; her main activities concerned fiber lasers, soliton propagation and high bit-rate transmission systems. In 1999, she was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the electronics department of the University of Pavia where she started to investigate modeling of Raman fiber lasers and guided wave second order nonlinear optics. Since November 1999, she has been Assistant Professor at the University of Pavia. Her present activities mainly concern biophotonics, optical signal processing in second order nonlinear waveguides and nonlinear fiber optics.
