Qing Q. Liang

Qing Quan Liang is an Associate Professor of structural engineering at Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in structural engineering from Victoria University of Technology in 2002 and M.E. degree (with honor) in structural engineering from the University of Wollongong in 1998. He was a Lecturer in structural design and Associate Head at the University of Southern Queensland and an Australian Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Associate at the University of New South Wales and University of Western Sydney. His research focuses on developing efficient computational methods for the optimal structural design and nonlinear inelastic analysis of steel-concrete composite structures, steel structures, and concrete structures. He was awarded the State-of-the-Art of Civil Engineering Award by the American Society of Civil Engineers in 2004. He has published over 75 technical books, book chapters, special issues, journal articles, and refereed conference papers. He is the author of the book entitled “Performance-Based Optimization of Structures: Theory and Applications” published by Spon Press in London. He has extensive experience in teaching, research, and structural design.
