Hung Thai-Van, holder of M.D. and Ph.D. degrees, has been teaching auditory physiology at Lyon 1 University, France, since 2000. He is currently heading the Department of Audiology at Lyon University Hospital, France. Professor Thai-Van research interests focus on abnormal central auditory maturation and CNS reorganization in subjects with sensorineural hearing loss and/or learning disorders. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles on these topics. His most active research at the moment seeks to better understand the neurophysiological, linguistic, and cognitive outcomes of various auditory rehabilitation programs (including short but intensive auditory training) in children with sensory deprivation.
