Kotohiro Nomura finished his undergraduate study in Saitama University in 1986 and accomplished his M.S. degree from the University of Tokyo in 1988. He joined as a Research Scientist in the Organic Synthesis Research Laboratory, Sumitomo Chemical Company, Ltd. He received his Ph.D. degree in 1993 from Osaka University (by thesis submission), and joined a Group of Professor Richard R. Schrock (Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, USA) as a postdoctoral fellow for two years. He then returned to Sumitomo and moved to Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST) as an Associate Professor in 1998. He has been a Full Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Tokyo Metropolitan University (TMU) since April, 2010. He has coauthored ca. 200 publications including reviewing articles and book chapters.
