User Biography : Prof Guenther Gruber Guenther Gruber (GG) is the current president of the Swiss Society for Radiation Oncology (SRO) and voting member of the chamber of Swiss medical doctors (‘Aerztekammer’ of FMH – Foederatio Medicorum Helveticorum). In collaboration with the Swiss Cancer League he is member of a working group establishing guidelines for breast center definition and certification within Switzerland. GG is Private Lecturer at the Medical Faculty of the University of Berne, Switzerland. GG is the delegate for RT in the breast group of SAKK (Swiss Association for Clinical Cancer Research) and in the Swiss society of senology. He is Co-Chair of the Swiss Tumor Institute (STI), an association of private doctors working in Switzerland in the field of cancer. Furthermore he is founding member and current chair of the RT Task Force of the ‘International Breast Cancer Study Group’ (IBCSG), of which he is also member of the Scientific Committee. The IBCSG is worldwide one of the leading research groups in the field of breast cancer. GG is experienced in clinical cancer research with several publications in the field of breast cancer in journals like JCO, Lancet Oncology, the Red Journal, Breast Cancer Res etc. He is co-author of the current Swiss national guideline for radiotherapy (RT) in operable breast cancer and co-author of the current clinical practice guidelines for diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of primary breast cancer of the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO). His current job position is medical head of the institute for radiotherapy, Klinik Hirslanden, Zurich, Switzerland.
