Yang Kim

Yang Kim received B.S. degree from Kyungnam University, Gyeongsangnam-do, Republic of Korea (1979 –1983); M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Yeungnam University, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Republic of Korea (1983–1989). Kim is a Professor at Kosin University, Busan, Republic of Korea, from 1989 till present. Many times of short-term and long-term appointments as "Invited Academic" have been held at the University of Western Australia (1992–1999); the Université Louis Pasteur de Strasbourg, ECPM (2004–2010); Universität Heidelberg (2004); the University of Queensland (2005–2007); and the University of Sydney. Research interests and activities include the study of selectivity in molecular interactions; the design and synthesis of molecules; preparation of spin crossover materials; encapsulating ligands for the isolation, purification, analysis, and use of metal ions; the use of macrocyclic ligands for the extraction, separation, and application of rare earth and actinide-containing materials.
