Srinivas Chakravarthy serves as a Professor of operations research and statistics at the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at Kettering University, Flint, USA. He received a Ph.D. degree in operations research, an M.S. degree in statistics, and a B.S. degree in mathematics. His research interests are in applied stochastic models, algorithmic probability, queuing, reliability, and inventory. He has published more than 75 papers in leading journals and has presented more than 60 papers at national and international conferences. He serves as a Member of several scientific advisory committees, an Area Editor for Simulation Modelling Practice and theory; he also served on the Editorial Boards of Open Operational Research Journal and E-Journal on Reliability Theory and Applications. He has received NSF awards and organized the First and Second International Conferences on Matrix-analytic Methods in Stochastic Models. He received Kettering University Alumni's Outstanding Teacher Awards (1990 and 2001) and Kettering University's Outstanding Researcher (1996), and Distinguished Researcher (2003) Awards. He serves as a Member of INFORMS, IIE, ASA, ASQ, and Sigma Xi Research Society.
