Günther Koraimann

Günther Koraimann was born 1961. He received a Ph.D. degree in biology in 1985 and entered the microbiology field as a postdoctoral fellow in Gregor Högenauer's Lab where he started to investigate molecular biological aspects of bacterial conjugation. He became an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Microbiology and is now a Professor at the Institute of Molecular Biosciences in Graz, Austria. His scientific expertise includes structural, biochemical, and molecular biological characterization of DNA transfer and type IV secretion systems, regulation of bacterial gene expression and the interplay between the bacterial host and its plasmid.
