Urs Feller

User Biography : Prof Urs Feller Urs Feller completed his studies at the University of Bern, Bern, Switzerland, in 1967-1972; in 1972 he got the Diploma in biology and became a Guest Researcher at the Technical University in Munich. From 1972 till 1975, he has been working on his Ph.D. thesis at the University of Bern. In 1975-1976, he occupied the position of Research Associate at the University of Illinois. From 1976 to 1978, he has been an Assistant at the Institute of Plant Physiology, University of Bern. Throughout the years from 1979 to 1985 he served as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Plant Physiology; in 1984, Feller obtained the Habilitation degree at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Bern. In 1985-1988, he became "Privatdozent"-Lecturer. In the period from 1988 till 1997, he worked as Professor (full-time extraordinarius) of plant physiology (especially plant nutrition) at the University of Bern; in 1995-1996 he was on Sabbatical at the Western Cotton Research Laboratory in Phoenix, Ariz, USA. Since 1997, he has been a Full Professor (ordinarius) of plant physiology (especially plant nutrition) at the University of Bern and in 1998-2000 was a Director of the Institute of Plant Physiology, in 2000-2003 a Director of the newly established Institute of Plant Sciences, and in 2008-2010 a Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, University of Bern.
