Klavs Hansen

Klavs Hansen was born on August 3rd, 1958 in Odense, Denmark. He received his Ph.D. degree in physics in 1991 from the Niels Bohr Institute, Copenhagen, Denmark, after which he held positions at UCLA, the Max Born Institute, Aarhus University, Johan Gutenberg University, and University of Jyväskylä;. From 2003, he has been an Associate Professor at the Physics Department of University of Gothenburg. Moreover, he is a Chair of the board of the Chemical and Molecular Physics Section of the European Physical Society 2007-2013, and he was chair of the Gothenburg University Nanoparticle Platform 2007-2010. He has (co-)organized or been a committee member of 13 conferences, summer schools, and workshops, of which the latest are EGAS44 (July 2012), NICITA workshop on atmospheric ions (March 2013), and ECAMP11 (June 2013). He was also Guest Editor of the International Journal of Mass Spectrometry, vol. 252 (2006), the ISSPIC13 proceedings (The European Physical Journal D, vol. 43 (1-3) (2007)), and Member of the Editorial Board of the Atomic and Molecular Physics Section of The Scientific World Journal (from 2012). His research areas are thermal and quantum properties and processes of gas phase clusters, fullerenes, and large molecules. He has authored the textbook Statistical Physics of Nanoparticles in the Gas Phase.
