Torsten Oekermann is a Research Associate leading his own research team within the group of Professor Jürgen Caro in the Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry at the Leibniz University Hannover, Germany. He received the Dipl.Chem. degree in 1995 and the Dr.rer.nat. degree in 2000, both in the group of Dr. Derck Schlettwein and Professor Nils Jaeger at the University of Bremen, Germany. From 2000 to 2003, he worked as a postdoctoral at Gifu University, Japan, in the group of Dr. Tsukasa Yoshida and Professor Hideki Minoura, being a Postdoctoral Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) from 2001 to 2003. In 2007, he was awarded an Invitation Fellowship for another half-year stay in Japan by JSPS. He authored or coauthored four books or book chapters and more than 30 refereed papers in journals and conference proceedings. He has been serving as a reviewer for many journals including Journal of Materials Chemistry, Electrochimica Acta, and Journal of Physical Chemistry B. His current research interests include photoelectrochemistry, dye-sensitized solar cells, and the electrodeposition of nanostructured materials.
