Serban C. Moldoveanu

Serban C. Moldoveanu received his B.S. degree in mathematics and Ph.D. degree in chemistry from the University of Bucharest, Romania, in 1971 and 1974, respectively. He has various teaching positions at the Chemistry Department, University of Bucharest, Romania, until 1983. He was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of GA, in Athens GA, USA (1983–1985), a research chemist at Dowell (1985-1986), various research positions at Brown & Williamson Tobacco Co. (1986–2004), and a principal scientist at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co (since 2004). His research interests include research on various aspects of chromatography including sample preparation, HPLC, GC/MS, LC/MS/MS with particular application to natural products and cigarette smoke, and automation of analytical procedures; and research on pyrolysis with specific interest in the generation of toxicants during pyrolytic process. He has more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals, 5 books published in different printing houses in Romanian, and 4 books published in Elsevier. He is a reviewer for several international journals.
