Dola has done her M.Sc. & Ph.D. in Marine Biology & Oceanography from the Centre of Advanced Study in Marine Biology, Porto Novo, in the State of Tamil Nadu, India in 2011. Later she move on to the Indian Institute of Science Education & Research, Kolkata, India, for pursuing Postdoctoral research. At present, she is working as a Researcher in the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Govt. of India. Her research interest involves investigating marine invertebrate biodiversity, their biogeographic patterns & issues related to taxonomy & evolution. The role of various factors in shaping marine community structures (especially plankton and benthos) is also her subject of interest. Besides, she is involved in assessing & managing the environmental impacts posed by the ongoing & upcoming projects along the Eastern Region of India.
