Sangita Kulathinal

Sangita Kulathinal did her Ph.D. degree in statistics from the University of Pune, India in 1996. She has taught statistics at the Universities of Pune and the University of Panjab in Chandigarh, India. She serves also as an Adjunct Professor at the Universities of Helsinki and Tampere, in Finland, in statistics and biometry, respectively. Sangita is currently associated with the National Institute for Health and Welfare in Helsinki, Finland and with the Indic Society for Education and Development (INSEED), Nashik. Sangita is one of the Founder Members of INSEED and serves as the Current Secretary of the society. While at the National Public Health Institute in Helsinki, Sangita has worked in cardiovascular disease epidemiology, genetic epidemiology, designing of epidemiological studies, and methodological development in case-cohort designs. Her current interests are also in rural health, nutrition-related issues, and empowerment of women.
