Thomas Beyer is CEO and founder of cmi-experts GmbH, a Switzerland based company offering consulting and project management in multi-modality imaging, and teaching professor at the University Hospital Essen (Germany). Thomas graduated in Physics at the Leipzig University (Germany) and got his PhD in Medical Physics from Surrey University (UK) in 2000. He is co-developer of the first combined PET/CT system worldwide. In 2002 he became a Research Associate in Nuclear Medicine and Radiology and PET/CT project manager at Essen University Hospital (Germany). In 2006 he became teaching professor (Priv-Doz) for Experimental Nuclear Medicine and joined Timaq medical imaging Inc, a Zurich-based Imaging CRO. In 2007 he moved to Philips Medical Systems as International Manager Clinical Science Nuclear Medicine. Since 2008 he is manager of cmi-experts GmbH. In addition, he serves as a Co-opted Member of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM) Physics Committee, an Honoree Member of the Armenian Society of Nuclear Medicine, a member of the Board of Directors of the Computer and Instrumentation Council of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and as the Head of the New Technology working group at the Association of Imaging Producers and Equipment Suppliers (AIPES).
