Christophe Geuzaine received his Ph.D. degree in 2001 from the University of Liège, Liège, Belgium. After postdoctoral positions in computational and applied mathematics at the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, Calif, USA, and with the Belgian National Science Foundation, in 2005 he became an Assistant Professor of mathematics at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA. In 2007, he came back to the University of Liège, where he joined the Engineering Faculty. Prof. Geuzaine's research encompasses modeling, analysis, algorithm development, and simulation for problems arising in various areas of engineering and science. He has authored more than 50 articles in international journals and is the creator of two widely used open-source mathematical software tools: the finite element solver GetDP and the mesh generator Gmsh.
