Kayhan Gulez was born in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1970. He received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees all in electrical engineering, from Yildiz Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 1992, 1995, and 1999, respectively. He firstly worked as a Research Assistant at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Engineering Faculty, Celal Bayar University, Manisa, Turkey, between 1994 and 1997. Then, he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Faculty, Yildiz Technical University, in July 1997. Between 1997 and 1999 (October), he continued to carry out his studies in the same department. He worked as a Research Associate in a JSPS project and other short‐term projects at Keio University, Tokyo, Japan, and in Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan, between October 1999 and November 2002. Currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Yildiz Technical University. His major research interests are artificial neural networks, control of electric machines, control systems, EMC and EMI control methods, harmonics, and EMI filter design methods on which he has over 120 scientific papers and technical reports in various journals and conference proceedings. He has also 5 science grand awards, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2005, from Yildiz Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey, and two best paper awards from SCI’2001 and M&S’2001.
