Dr. Zsolt Szabo is Professor of Radiology, attending physician in the Division of Nuclear Medicine, a leading figure in The Johns Hopkins Hospital's clinical PET/CT service. He received his first medical degree from The University of Belgrade. He pursued postgraduate training in radiation oncology, internal medicine and nuclear medicine. He was certified in nuclear medicine by the German Medical Association, then completed an additional medical degree at the University of Dusseldorf. He went on to complete a Ph.D. at the same university's Nuclear Research Center. He came to Johns Hopkins in 1989 for postgraduate work and joined the faculty in 1992. In the same year he received his US Board certification for Nuclear Medicine. Dr. Szabo has authored over 70 articles in peer-reviewed journals and 30 chapters in medical textbooks. His research includes imaging of molecular recognition sites in the brain, heart and kidney. He is co-editor of the textbook Wagner Szabo Buchanan Principles of Nuclear Medicine.
