Hyun Soon Chong

Hyun Soon Chong received her B.S. degree (1985) in chemistry from Kyung Hee University in South Korea. She received her M.S. degree (1989) in organic chemistry under the direction of Young-Sook Paik at Kyung Hee University. She moved to the University of North Texas for her Ph.D. degree studies with Alan Marchand (1995–1999). After her postdoctoral work (1999–2003) with Martin W. Brechbiel at the National Institutes of Health, she took a faculty position at the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2003. She is currently an Associate Professor at the Chemistry Division, IIT. Her research interests broadly lie on aziridine and aziridinium ion chemistry and macrocyclic ligand synthesis.
