Antonino Germana

Antonino Germana was born in Messina in 1974. He is a Full Professor of veterinary anatomy, Department of Veterinary Science, University of Messina, Messina, Italy. He acquired a Ph.D. degree in "Morphology of ichthyic species and birds." He is a Principal Investigator at the Zebrafish Neuromorphology Lab (ZNL). His research mainly focuses on the study of the involvement of growth factors in different nervous tissues and organs in experimental animal models such as knockout mice, and both normal and transgenic zebrafish. He collaborates with numerous national and international research centers. In 2005 he won the Prize for Best Young Researchers in the Biomedical Area of the University Messina and was a Visiting Professor at the Department of Morphology and Cellular Biology, University of Oviedo, Asturias, Spain, and in 2007 was a Visiting Professor at the Laboratory of Sensory Neuroscience, Rockfeller University, NY, USA.
