Ingo Machenbach received the M.S. degree from Technical University of Aachen, Aachen, Germany (1997), and the Ph.D. degree from Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway (2007). He worked as a Research assistant at University of Natal, Durban, South Africa (1 year), Research Scientist at SINTEF Water and Environment, Trondheim, Norway (3 years), Research Scientist at Institute for Energy Technology (IFE), Kjeller, Norway (4 years), and Senior Engineer at Statkraft, Oslo, Norway (since 2011). He has been involved in research and development of the following fields: membrane applications (MF, UF, NF, RO, PRO); water and wastewater treatment; seawater desalination; anaerobic digestion of wet-organic waste; hazardous waste treatment; CO2 management and storage; recovery of metals from mineral resources (Al, Li); microalgae for food and energy applications; biomass-to-energy applications; osmotic Power.
