Zeynep Aydogmus received her pharmacy degree from Istanbul University at 1986. She received the M.S. and the Ph.D. degrees from Department of Analytical Chemistry, Istanbul University, Turkey, in 1989 and 1995, respectively. She was employed as a Research Assistant between 1987 and 1999 at the same department. From 2000 to 2002, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), College of Pharmacy's Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy, where she studied on the discovery of anticancer and antimalarial agents of diverse natural origin. She was promoted to become an Associate Professor in 2004 and currently serves at the Faculty of Pharmacy at Department of Analytical Chemistry, Istanbul. She worked as a Visiting Researcher in Free University of Brussels, Department of Instrumental Analysis and Bioelectrochemistry, between 2009 and 2010, where she worked on the development of electroanalytical techniques for drug analysis. She is mainly interested in the development methods for drug/biological components analysis using spectroscopy, liquid chromatography, and electrochemical techniques. In addition, she is interested in the isolation and structural elucidation of bioactive secondary metabolites from marine organisms and other sources.
