Rudolf Zetik received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Technical University Košice, Košice, Slovakia, in 1997 and 2001, respectively. He submitted his Habilitation thesis “UWB sensors for surveillance applications in emergency and security situations” in July 2014 to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Ilmenau University of Technology in Germany. Currently, he is working as a Senior Research Assistant at Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS in Erlangen, Germany. His current research topics cover beamforming and precoding techniques and emulations of terrestrial-satellite backhaul networks. His further research interests include digital signal analysis and its application in ultrawideband sensor systems, real-time MIMO channel sounding, ground-penetrating radar, people detection, and localization and radar imaging.
