Khaled Machaca works as a Professor of physiology and biophysics and serves as an Associate Dean for research at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q). His research focus is in the fields of Ca2+ signaling and gamete maturation. He has published in leading journals and garnered continuous extramural funding from federal and national funding agencies such as the NIH, NSF, and the Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF). He serves at several editorial boards, reviews widely for scientific journals, and has a robust track record of training students and postdoctoral fellows. He is trained as a Cellular and Developmental Biologist at Emory University, and his present research efforts focus on understanding the role and regulation of Ca2+ signaling pathways in normal physiology and pathology.
