Kenji Mizuguchi

Kenji Mizuguchi serves currently as a Research Group Head at the National Institute of Biomedical Innovation and he also holds a Guest Professorship at the School of Frontier Biosciences, Osaka University. His research focuses on the development of computational methods for predicting protein structure, function, and interaction and their applications to drug discovery. He was previously a University Lecturer at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (2004-2006) and a Group Leader (Wellcome Trust Research Career Development Fellow) at the Department of Biochemistry, University of Cambridge (2000-2004). Prior to that, he was a postdoctoral fellow in Tom Blundell's laboratory at Birkbeck College, University of London and at University of Cambridge (as a Long-Term Fellow of the Human Frontier Science Programme and a Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science for Young Scientists). He received a B.A. degree in physics in 1990 and a Ph.D. degree in chemistry in 1995, both from Kyoto University.
