Youssef Daali is a Head of the Research Laboratory of the Clinical Pharmacology Service at Geneva University Hospitals. He completed his doctorate in pharmaceutical analysis at the School of Pharmacy of Geneva University in 2001. He joined the Clinical Pharmacology Service at Geneva University Hospitals in 2002. The research activity is related to drug metabolism and enzymes activities assessment using pharmacogenetics and phenotyping approaches for an individualized medicine. Clinical Pharmacology Laboratory participates in a number of clinical trials, related to drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, and drug-drug interactions. We developed several in vitro models for drug metabolism characterization and drug-drug interaction studies. Dr. Daali is a Member of the Swiss Center of Applied Human Toxicology (SCAHT), Swiss Analytical Toxicology Center (CCCTA), and different national and international associations. The Laboratory of Clinical Pharmacology is equipped with powerful analytical instruments such as liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry for the determination of drugs in different biological matrices. We are currently working on the development of routine application of Dried Blood Spot sampling in the clinical analysis including therapeutic drug monitoring, CYP450 phenotyping, and pharmacokinetics.
