Ian L. Swaine
Ian L. Swaine completed his undergraduate Sports Science degree at the Liverpool John Moores University, UK, in the early 1980s and completed his Ph.D. degree at the University of Leeds, UK, (Department of Clinical Medicine) in the early 1990s. In his early career he worked as a Sport Scientist at the Leeds Sports Development Unit. Subsequently, he has held a series of academic lecturing posts at Universities including in Sunderland and De Montfort, and Canterbury Christ Church. He has a wealth of experience in both sports performance and in health-related research, having an extensive and broad-ranging peer-reviewed publications list. His specialist research interest currently relates to the effects of isometric training on resting blood pressure.
