Ellina Grigorieva

Ellina V. Grigorieva was born in Russia. As a high school student, she participated in and won several mathematics olympiads and was admitted to the Lomonosov Moscow State University (MGU) without exams. She graduated from MGU with the gold medal. Her graduate studies at MGU culminated with a Ph.D. degree in mathematical and physical sciences (1996). She is currently a Professor of mathematics at Texas Woman’s University, Denton, Tex, USA. She has published over 45 papers and supervised over 65 students’ research projects. Her recent research interests include differential equations, optimal control theory, differential games, and their applications to business, economic, and life sciences. Dr. Grigorieva is serving on the TWU Research Support Committee, TWU Senate, and several other committees. She was honored to chair several sections at international conferences and to be a reviewer for math texts and journals including the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control. As a former olympiad winner, she was invited to serve on the MAA USAMO Grading Committee in 2008. She has been a member of MAA, AMS, and SIAM since 1998.
