Ike S Okosun

Ike S. Okosun is an Associate Professor and the Director of the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in Georgia State University School of Public Health. He received his Ph.D. degree in epidemiology from The University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health and has over 25 years of experience in public health research and teaching. Dr. Okosun specializes in chronic disease epidemiology and is an internationally recognized expert in the epidemiology of hypertension, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and metabolic syndrome. Dr. Okosun is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Promotion of Health, The North American Association for the Study of Obesity and the Royal Institute of Public Health and Hygiene, and the American College of Epidemiology. He is also a Member of many scientific organizations including American Public Health Association, Society for Epidemiologic Research, North American Association for the Study of Obesity, and International Society for the Study of Hypertension in Blacks.
