Rita Cortesi is an Associate Professor at the University of Ferrara. She received her M.S. degree in pharmaceutical chemistry and technology (M.Pharm.) at the University of Ferrara, Italy, in 1991, and her Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutical sciences in 1995. After being in 1996 an HMC Postdoctoral Fellow at Nottingham University (UK) in 1999, she became an Assistant Professor in pharmaceutical technology at Ferrara University. During these years, she supervised the research activity of Ph.D. as well as postdoctoral students. Her research fields focus on the preparation and characterization of colloidal drug delivery systems (i.e., liposomes, niosomes, microparticles, nanoparticles); other interests are in the cosmetic field. Her studies are conducted in collaboration with prestigious international research groups. Professor Cortesi has authored more than 90 scientific work considering papers on international journal, book chapters, and patents. She serves on the editorial boards of two open journals and acts as a referee of many international journals. Cortesi is a member of some scientific organizations and of the Scientific Committee of the TEFARCO Innova InterUniversity Research Consortium.
