Takahisa Matsuda studied at the School of Medicine, Yamagata University, Yamagata, Japan, from 1988 to 1994, where he received his M.D. degree. In 2009, Matsuda received his Ph.D. degree from Dokkyo Medical University, Tochigi, Japan. From 1998 to 2001, Matsuda was a Resident at the Department of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, National Cancer Center Hospital, Tokyo, Japan. From 2001 to 2003, he was a Chief Resident at the Department of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, National Cancer Center Hospital, Tokyo, Japan. From 2003 to 2008, Matsuda was a Staff Member of the Endoscopy Division, National Cancer Center Hospital, Tokyo, Japan. Since 2008, Matsuda has been the Head of Endoscopy Division, National Cancer Center Hospital. He is a Member of the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (JGES), Japanese Society of Gastroenterology (JSGE), Japanese Gastroenterological Association (JGA), and Japanese Society of Internal Medicine. Moreover, he is an International Member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). Matsuda has been invited to perform as a faculty member and live demonstrator in numerous countries. He has a wide spectrum of research exposure and interests including colorectal cancer screening and surveillance, magnifying chromoendoscopy (MCE), and endoscopic mucosal resection for early colorectal cancer.
