I am leading the newborn group of Computational Biology at the Danish Cancer Society Research Center (DCRC, Copenhagen, Denmark) and I am visiting researcher at the University of Milano-Bicocca (Milan, Italy). My group focuses on several projects from structural biology, biomolecular simulations and modelling to network analyses and analyses of -omics data and cancer databases. We work in tight collaborations with experimentalists in either cellular/molecular biology, biophysics and biochemistry area. A tight integration of experiments in our simulations or for validation of our prediction is an important component of our projects. I am focusing on different biological topics from extremophilic enzymes, intrinsically disordered proteins, neurodegenerative/cancer diseases, ubiquitination, post-translational modifications, chaperones, transcription factors, metal-binding proteins, DNA damage/repair and autophagy. I have a Ph.D. degree in industrial biotechnology—Biostructure Curriculum (2006, Milano-Bicocca University, Milan, Italy). I worked as Postdoctoral Researcher (2006–2011) and Contract Professor (2010–2012) in Computational Biology at Milano-Bicocca University. I have been also Visiting Researcher at different international research institutes (Tromso University, Norway; IBB, Barcelona, and CNIO, Madrid, Spain). I have been Senior PostDoctoral Researcher at the Structural Biology and NMR group at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark from March 2012 to July 2015.
