Sangiliyandi Gurunathan received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Microbial Technology at Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, India. He pursued his research career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel, from 1998 to 2001 from where he moved to the University of California, San Diego, CA, USA, and worked as a Research Scientist and subsequently served as a Research Associate at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC, USA, and Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, USA. Currently he is serving as a Professor at Animal Biotechnology, Konkuk University, Seoul, Republic of Korea. He has a bibliography of over 75 peer-reviewed papers in the area of molecular and cellular biology and nanomedicine, and he has authored several book chapters. He is also serving as a Member of Editorial Board of the World Journal of Hypertension. His current researches focus on various emerging fields of life science and health care that include nanobiotechnology and cell signaling.
