Malgorzata Wasniewska was born on September 17, 1959. She received a degree in medicine from Warsaw Academy of Medicine, Warsaw, Poland (1983). Her specialization was in pediatrics (1st grade in Poland, 1987; 2nd grade in Poland, 1991; in Italy, Messina University, 1999). She was an Assistant and First Assistant at the Pediatric Clinic of The National Research Institute of Mother and Child in Warsaw (1983–1993). Since 2004, she has been a Researcher at the Pediatric Clinic of Messina University. Moreover, she is the author of 156 publications in scientific literature, of which 72 in extenso (64 have been published in international journals with impact factor (total IF 150.53) and 84 in abstract. She is interested in pediatric diabetology and endocrinology and with particular reference to the following research topics: pathophysiology, neuroradiology, clinic, and therapy of early-onset hypopituitarism; pathophysiology, clinic, and therapy of alterations of pubertal development; peculiarities regarding hypothyroidism (congenital, subclinical, and hypothalamic); endocrine and metabolic complications in patients with chronic systemic diseases; peculiarities in diabetes mellitus type I; and genetic and molecular alterations in various auxological and endocrinological diseases. In addition, she has been a Member of the Italian Society of Pediatrics and the Italian Society of Endocrinology and Pediatrics Diabetology since 1998 and a Member of the European Society for Pediatric Endocrinology since 2003.
