Xing-yuan Wang received the B.S. degree in application physics and the M.S. degree in optics from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, in 1987 and 1992, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in computer software and theory from Northeastern University, Shenyang, China, in 1999. From 1999 to 2001, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Department of Automation, Northeastern University. He is currently a Professor with the Faculty of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Dalian University of Technology, Dalian, China. His research interests include the theory and application of chaos, fractals and complex network. He has published 3 academic monographs and more than 300 papers in important journals at home and abroad, such as the Journal of Theoretical Biology, Chaos, Physics Letters A, Physica A, IEEE Trans. SMC B, Fuzzy Sets and Systems, and Applied Soft Computing.
