DeXin Kong

Dexin Kong is a Professor of molecular-targeted drug discovery, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tianjin Medical University, China. He earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees (pharmaceutical sciences) from Shandong University, China, and Ph.D. degree (natural product chemistry, 2002–2005) from Osaka University, Japan. He served as an Assistant Professor at Shandong University (1996–2000). After getting his Ph.D. degree, he obtained postdoctoral training as a Research Associate at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (2005-2006). In 2006, he moved to the Division of Molecular Pharmacology, Cancer Chemotherapy Center, Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research, as a Scientist (2006–2009), and his position was promoted to a Senior Scientist in 2010. In 2011, Dr. Kong got his current Professor position in Tianjin Medical University. The major research interests of Dr. Kong include molecular-targeted drug discovery, molecular pharmacology, natural product chemistry, and herbal medicine. Dr. Kong is currently a Member of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and a Member of the Japanese Cancer Association (JCA). He is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals.
