Chandra Prakash Kala

Chandra Prakash Kala earned his Ph.D. degree in forestry from the Forest Research Institute of India. Some of his earlier associations were with the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun, the G.B. Pant Institute of Himalayan Environment and Development, Almora, and the National Medicinal Plants Board, Ministry of Health and family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi. Dr. Kala has widely surveyed the temperate and alpine ecosystems. The findings of his decade long study on the Valley of Flowers National Park are one the outstanding contributions to the science. He has published over 120 research papers and articles in various national and international journals of repute. He has chaired and delivered keynote lectures in many international and national seminars and conferences. Presently, Dr. Kala is associated with the Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal, as a faculty in the Ecosystem and Environment Management Division. He is recipient of prestigious ICFRE Award for Excellence for his outstanding contribution in the field of forest conservation (biodiversity and ecology).
