Hanchun Yang got his Ph.D. degree from Veterinary Preventive Medicine at China Agricultural University in 1992, and currently works as a Full Professor and the Chair of the Department of Preventive Veterinary Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine, China Agricultural University, Beijing, China. His laboratory is mainly focusing on host-pathogen interaction in animal infectious diseases, such as porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS), encephalomyocarditis, porcine circovirus type 2, and swine influenza. In addition, his lab is heavily involved in the development of new vaccines against emerging pathogens in domestic animals. He has been recognized as one of the top researchers in the world on PRRS study. He has published many papers on peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of Virology, Virus Research, Archives of Virology, Vaccine, and Veterinary Microbiology.
