Guang-Yu Yang is currently a Professor at the Department of Pathology at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Ill, USA. He received both his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from China Medical University and completed his medical residency in anatomical and clinical pathology at the New York University School of Medicine in New York City, USA. Following his residency training, Guang-Yu went on to a fellowship in GI/liver pathology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Md, USA. In addition to his faculty appointment in the university, he is also an Attending Physician in surgical pathology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. His research interests mainly focus on chronic inflammation-induced carcinogenesis, from modeling, mechanism to chemopreventive and therapeutic target/s, using chronic colitis and pancreatitis as models.
