Jesualdo Tomás Fernandez-Breis received a B.S. degree in computer science from the University of Murcia, Murcia, Spain, in 1997, and a M.S degree in computer engineering from the same university in 1999. He obtained a European Ph.D. degree in computer engineering in 2003 from the University of Murcia, which was possible thanks to a Ph.D. scholarship from the Seneca Foundation. He is an Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics and Systems, which he joined in 2003. He has served as the Vicedean of the School of Computer Science at the University of Murcia from 2006 to 2010 and currently is its Web Coordinator. His research activity has been mainly in the area of semantic web and ontological engineering from a technological perspective, and applied to biomedical domains and e-learning. He has taken part in and directed various research projects and has published several papers in indexed journals.
