Zwi G. Weinberg

Zwi G. Weinberg was born in Tel-Aviv, Israel in 1950. He received his B.S. degree in chemistry in 1974, M.S. degree in biochemistry and teaching license in chemistry, both in 1976, at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Jerusalem, Israel. In 1982 Weinberg received his Ph.D. degree in food science at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA. He worked for several years in research pertaining to poultry and fish technology. Since 1985, his research focuses on forage preservation, ensiling fermentation, lactic acid bacteria as silage inoculants, and utilization of byproducts for ruminant feeding. Weinberg has spent several sabbatic leaves in the USA. He teaches meat science at the Faculty of Agriculture, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Rehovot, Israel.
