Asif Rashid works currently as a Tenured Professor of pathology and Section Chief of gastrointestinal and liver pathology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He is a gastrointestinal and liver pathologist and molecular biologist by training. He graduated from the Dow Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan in 1984. He earned the Ph.D. degree from the Boston University School of Medicine in molecular immunology in 1991. He obtained a Residency in anatomic pathology, a Fellowship in surgical pathology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard University, and a Fellowship in gastrointestinal and liver pathology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and University. He was a Faculty Member at the Department of Pathology and Oncology at The Johns Hopkins University before moving to the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in 1999. He has published more than 160 articles in scientific generals, has written several book chapters, and has given many invited talks and scientific presentations.
