Frederic Dorandeu

Frederic Dorandeu works at the Institut de Recherche Biomédicale des Armées, Centre de Recherches du Service de Santé des Armées, La Tronche, France. Dorandeu was born in Paris, France, in 1965. He received its Pharmacy degree from the Université Claude Bernard Lyon I, Lyon, France, in 1990, the Ph.D. degree from the Université Joseph Fourier Grenoble I, Grenoble, France in 1998, and in 2007 its Habilitation “habilitation à diriger des recherches” from the same university. In 1991 and 1999, he was the recipient of an award from the French National Pharmaceutical Academy. Since 1993, Dorandeu is with the Toxicology Department of CRSSA. In 1993-1994 and 2003-2004, he was a Visiting Scientist at the Defence Research Establishment Suffield, Canada. From 1998 to 2008, he was a Senior Research Scientist at the Toxicology Department and in charge of a team since 2003. Since 2008, he is a Professor with the Ecole du Val-de-Grâce in Paris, Deputy Head then Head of the department. Dorandeu is mainly interested in the pathophysiology of organophosphorus compound intoxication with a special focus on seizure-related brain damage and treatment of severe refractory status epilepticus.
