Laura Guidetti has a medical degree and serves as a Medical Doctor. Her medical specialization includes aerospace medicine and medical specialization in sport medicine. She got an M.S. degree in sport sciences and a Ph.D. degree in movement sciences. She has been acting as an Associate Professor of methods and didactics of sport activities (since 2004) at the Department of Health Sciences, Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Rome, Rome, Italy. She was an invited teacher at the UTAD, Vila Real (Portugal), at the Escola Superior de Desporto De Rio Maior, Rio Maior (Portugal), at the University of Porto, Porto (Portugal), and at the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), Lavras, MG, Brazil. Her research areas include methods of standardization of exercise intensity, metabolic responses to exercise, and effects of supplementations and drugs on sport and exercise. She is the author of more than seventy original articles in international journals; reviewer of more than ten international journals on medicine and sport research (with IF); Member of the Italian Association of Aerospace Medicine (AIMAS), the Italian Sport Medicine Federation (FIMS), and the Italian Society of Sport and Movement Sciences (SISMES); and Fellow Member of American College of Sport Medicine (ACSM). She acts as the organizer of several AIMAS congresses and has been serving as the Coordinator of the Doctoral Course in physical activity and health at the University of Rome since 2006.
