Ivayla Pantcheva-Kadreva is currently an Associate Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the Sofia University “St. Kl. Ohridski” (Bulgaria). She earned her Ph.D. degree at the Sofia University under the supervision of Professor P. R. Bontchev (PhD Thesis “Copper(II) Complexes of Antihypertensive Drugs”). She got a position at the same University as an Assistant Professor in 1995 and was promoted to an Associate Professor in 2011. Her last research projects have been focused on the synthesis and characterization of metal complexes using spectroscopic methods (UV-Vis, IR, NMR, EPR; magnetochemistry, TGV; X-ray diffraction analysis); study on the properties of metal complexes of biologically active ligands; in vitro and in vivo assays of organic compounds and their complexes (acute toxicity, enzymatic studies, antibacterial activity). Fellowships: Fellow in 37th UNESCO Course - Laboratory of prof. Osakada, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan (12 months, 2001-2002), JSPS Fellowship - Laboratory of prof. Osakada, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan (24 months, 2003-2005), JSPS Fellowship – Laboratory of prof. Nishihara, Okayama University, Okayama, Japan (3 months, 2009-2010).
