Sang-Hoon Ahn holds both the M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. He has been an Associate Professor at Yonsei University College of Medicine since 2006. He has completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Liver Research Center in Brown Medical School, USA (2001–2003). His career has been advanced during the second overseas study at Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory (VIDRL), Australia (2008-2009). Currently, he is an Editorial Board Member for 3 SCIE journals and a Referee for 13 SCI journals including Gastroenterology and Hepatology. His major research interests include viral hepatitis and antiviral chemotherapy. This area includes molecular biology of hepatitis B virus, immunogenetics of hepatitis virus infection, clinical trials of various liver diseases (especially viral hepatitis and hepatocellular carcinoma), and diagnosis and treatment for viral hepatitis and liver cancer.
