Julie Redfern

Dr Redfern is a Senior Research Fellow at the George Institute for Global Health, a Clinical Senior Lecturer with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sydney and a Physiotherapist. Julie currently holds a NHMRC Postdoctoral Health Professional Fellowship that is co-funded by the National Heart Foundation. She has previously held a NHMRC (Heart Foundation) Fellowship. Julie is an advocate for effective secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease and her research interest is focussed on improving clinical practice and reduction of risk factors ultimately in people with a range of chronic diseases. She was a NSW Tall Poppy, was co-Chair of the 2011 National Secondary Prevention of Coronary Disease Summit and is currently the Allied Health representative on the Board of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand.
